Accommodation
Kennels are divided into 6 small blocks each with different designs so we are able to cater for the needs of each dog. Some will be abit wary of other dogs so will want a quiet kennel. Others will just love to see their neighbours for our medium and smaller boarders, we have large kennels for every large dogs and family kennels for 3 or more sharing from the same household.
Each kennel comprises of an indoor kennel which is heated in winter with access to their run via a hatch. Covered runs allow boarders to stay dry in wet weather and cool in the summer. Radios are used at night to help the boarders settle down with background music to make it feel more like home. We provide each boarder with a plastic bed lined with a fleece blanket, but it's nice for them to have a familiar smell to cuddle up with at night even if its only a jumper or towel, or if they have a favourite bed they are more than welcome to bring it. Fresh water is also available 24 hours a day. If you wish to bring in toys that your dog enjoys playing with, these will also be kept in their kennel ans taken out with them when they go for compound play.
Daily Routine
The day begins with a lead walk in our secure grounds. As well as the dogs enjoying what they like best, a walk and a good sniff, this allows us to check that each boarder is well and fighting fit. Any signs of Diahorrea are recorded so we can keep a close eye on the boarder to see if any action is needed. After their walk they go back to their runs and have breakfast, [ if they have two meals a day ] Whilst they are having breakfast we clean their kennels and their beds and refresh their water. Once this is done they can go in and out of their kennel as they please for the rets of the day.
Dinner time is one to one time between one of the kennel staff and each boarder or family of boarders. We feel this is a very important time as it gives each boarder the undivided human contact that they are used to at home and enables us to get to know each boarder better. Some boarders just want Fun Fun! Fun! Compound play is for the sporty type we will play ball or tug whichever they prefer and then there's the boarder that just wants another leisurely stroll around our gardens. Finally we have the cuddly type that just want plenty of cuddles and fuss along with their walk.
Feeding
Whilst your dog is staying with us we will feed what your dog is used to eating at home, We stock most of the complete foods, as well as the various moist dog foods. If you would like them fed on food that you provide we have a freezer so if you want to bring in cooked meat, thats fine, If your dog is on a prescription deit from the vet, we will ask you to bring that with you, and we will feed accordingly. When booking we ask what they eat, how much you give them [ especially if they have a larger appetite ] and how often i.e. once, twice or even three times a day for some dogs.
Medication
If your dog is on medication, that is not a problem, we will carry on with the usual routine, we will ask how it is usually administered, if it is in with their feed, then we will make sure that they have taken it [ some of them are so crafty ] We also cater for the diabetic dog that needs their insulin once or twice a day. More dogs are also coming in on homeopathic remedies or supplements which we will give according to your instructions i.e. an hour before food etc.
CATS
The cats are kept in seperate chalets looking out onto a beautiful landscape, so they can laze around in the calming atmosphere, The chalets come complete with wooden perches and plastic chairs to sit on in the outside run on the inside of the chalet there is a littering tray and a shelf where a bed is made up of blankets is situated. They have food and water which is replaced daily when the cleaning process is carried out. If your cat has any medication or a special deit, we can distribute this the way you request.
